Straight Answers

What Goes Into the Cost of a Pool in Middle Tennessee?

It is the first question almost every homeowner asks. We will not pretend a number off a website means anything, but we will show you exactly what drives the price so you know what you are choosing between. Then we walk your property and give you one fixed price for the whole project.

Fiberglass Pools

A factory-built shell set into your yard, usually the faster and more predictable path. A compact shell with a basic concrete surround sits at the simpler end. Adding a larger shell, a travertine or paver deck, an attached spa, and lighting moves the project up from there.

  • Shell size and model
  • Deck material and square footage
  • Spa, lighting, and automation

Gunite Pools

Built on-site over steel, so there is no fixed mold and no size limit. Cost climbs with square footage, depth, and the features that make a custom pool feel custom: tanning ledges, vanishing edges, spillover spas, and large hardscape surrounds.

  • Square footage and depth
  • Custom features and water elements
  • Hardscape, walls, and grading

Why we quote in person, not online

Nobody can price a pool from a website, and you should be skeptical of anyone who tries. Access, grade, soil, utilities, and what you actually want built change the total dramatically from one yard to the next. Tell us what you have in mind and we will walk the property, talk through the tradeoffs below, and give you one fixed price for the whole project with nothing hidden underneath it.

What Moves the Number

01

Size and Depth

Every extra foot of surface area and depth adds excavation, steel, shell material, water volume, and chemical load for the life of the pool.

02

Decking and Hardscape

The surround is often the second biggest line on the proposal. Broom-finish concrete is the budget option, while travertine, flagstone, and premium pavers cost more and look it.

03

Retaining Walls and Site Access

Middle Tennessee yards are rarely flat. Grade changes mean engineered retaining walls, and a tight side yard or rock shelf means smaller equipment and more labor hours.

04

Water Features

Spillover spas, sheer descents, bubblers, vanishing edges, and fire bowls each add plumbing, structure, and equipment on top of the base build.

05

Heating and Automation

Heat pumps or gas heaters extend your season, and automation lets you run lights, temperature, and features from your phone. Both add equipment and electrical work.

06

Fencing, Permits, and Restoration

Code-required fencing, permit and engineering fees, and putting the yard back together with grading and sod are real costs that some quotes leave out.

Spreading the cost is an option too. See pool financing partners or ask us about it on your consult. Financing is offered by independent third-party lenders. Southern Style Hardscapes & Pools is not a lender and does not make credit decisions.

Why Southern Style

Why Murfreesboro Homeowners Choose Us

One Team, Start to Finish

Most pool projects get pieced out across a designer, an excavator, a concrete crew, a plumber, an electrician, a decking company, and a landscaper. Every handoff is a place for something to slip. We do it all in-house.

One Clear Quote

A real design and a fixed price for the entire project, not a vague ballpark that grows once the hole is dug. No surprise trades to hire yourself.

Permits, Engineering, and HOA

We prepare the drawings, pull every permit your city or county requires, and assemble your HOA package. You submit it, we handle the rest.

Financing Options

We work with Lyon Financial, HFS Financial, and LightStream so the budget conversation has more than one answer. Ask us and we will point you to the right fit.

Common Questions

Pool Questions, Answered Straight

How much does an inground pool cost in Murfreesboro?

It depends on the pool type, the size and depth, how much decking and hardscape you want around it, how easy your yard is to work in, and which features you add. Rather than quote a number we cannot stand behind, we walk your property, talk through the choices that move the price, and give you one fixed price for the whole project. Financing is available if you would rather spread it out.

How long does a pool build take?

Fiberglass pools install faster because the shell arrives finished, while a full custom gunite pool with hardscape takes longer. Weather, inspections, and permit timelines all play a part. We give you a realistic timeline up front and keep you updated throughout.

Do you handle permits, engineering, and HOA approval?

Yes. We manage the full process, including design, engineered drawings, permits, inspections, and the HOA document package, so one team is accountable from first sketch to final walkthrough.

Fiberglass or gunite, which is right for me?

Fiberglass is the fastest route to swimming with a smooth gelcoat that resists algae and needs fewer chemicals, but you are choosing from existing shell models. Gunite has no mold and no size limit, so any shape, depth, tanning ledge, vanishing edge, or integrated spa is on the table. We build both and will tell you honestly which fits your yard and budget.

Do you offer financing?

We work with independent lenders including Lyon Financial, HFS Financial, and LightStream. Southern Style Hardscapes & Pools is not a lender and does not make credit decisions, but we can point you to the option that fits your project.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Murfreesboro, Smyrna, Franklin, Brentwood, Nashville, and the surrounding Middle Tennessee area from our Murfreesboro shop. Not sure if you are covered? Just ask.
